Why iPhone processors are more efficient and faster than android phones?

iPhone cores are faster because they are bigger. Yes they are really big cores. Apple was serious when they said “desktop class performance”. It is as big as Intel’s full blown desktop cores and is faster in some respects.

Technically, it is only efficient under heavy use cases. A benchmark in 2013 hinted that the iPhone’s Cyclone cores took 6 watts per core. Even the Cortex A57 in Snapdragon 810 takes a lower 3 watts per core.

A gaming session would drain the iPhones battery just like that. But most use cases are a “race to sleep” situation. That is – get the job done and go back to sleep. This works in most cases like respond to a click, take a picture, open an app et cetera which gives it overall good efficiency.

And its a common misconception that iOS is super optimised. Its not. Android has two different runtimes, has layers upon layers of drivers, a full-fledged file system and maintains backwards compatibility all the way back to android 1.0. It does all that with half the single core performance of the current iPhone. And it still manages to run beautifully if you have stock android. Now that is real optimisation. Windows phone does all that plus 3 runtimes and 2 graphics library stacks, all on 3 years old hardware with 512 MB RAM. What do you call that?

Apple is not making the most of its advantages as a company only having to deal with a limited number of hardware. They are losing their edge in refinement which is more apparent every passing generation as Android undergoes aggressive optimisation after they stopped adding features 2 years ago while iOS pans out to more and more models from multiple generations. How to download and install the Google Play Store app manually

A note on Google Play Store version numbers

The numbering system for Google Play Store versions may seem a little confusing at first, but it’s easy to get your head around. If the jumps between numbers seem odd, that’s simply because Google didn’t publicly release the versions in between. Note that new Play Store versions can delete old features as well as introduce new ones, so we’ve detailed what each new version brings in at the bottom of this article.

Download Google Play Store APK

Please note that the following guide is for owners of an Android device with a licensed version of the Play Store installed. We recognize that is sometimes necessary to re-install or roll back the Play Store.

The latest version of Google Play is 6.0.5. The biggest difference we can see came back at the tick-over to version 6.0: the new-look Google Play font in the search bar alongside other features designed around Android 6.0 Marshmallow. How to install Google Play Store

The simplest method should already be quite familiar to you if you’re an avid follower of Silicon Valley: just install the Play Store APK manually. An APK is the Android equivalent to an .exe program on your computer.

Instead of downloading an app from the Play Store, you simply install it yourself without the Play Store’s help (see our guide on installing apps outside of Google Play). This is extra useful when the app you want to install is the Play Store itself.

There are two ways to get the Google Play APK installed on your device: directly on your phone or with your computer. We’ll do the easy option first.

Install Google Play (phone method)

• Enable ‘Unknown Sources’ by going to Settings > Security, then ticking the box next to Unknown sources. Don’t be alarmed, unknown sources are simply locations outside of the Play Store, which is critical if it’s the Play Store itself that you want. (Don’t forget to uncheck this option once you’re done)
• Using the browser on your device, go to XDA Developers forum or APK Mirror to download the APK for the latest version of the Play Store.
• You may get a message warning that ‘this type of file can harm your device.’ Ignore it (trust us) and tap OK.
• Open the APK (you can tap the completed download in your notifications menu), read the new permissions (if any) that the new Play Store version requests, then tap Install.

Install Google Play (computer method)

If you don’t have a data or Wi-Fi connection on your device, you can download the APK to your computer instead. The same process applies:

• Enable Unknown sources on your device.
• Using the browser on your computer, go to XDA Developers forum or APK Mirror to download the APK for the latest version of the Play Store.
• Connect your device to your computer with a USB cable and copy the APK over to your Android App Developers India.
• Launch it the APK, accept permissions and tap Install.

Google Play Store troubleshooting

Google Services Framework is a crucial service that lets the Play Store communicate with apps on your device – allowing for automatic updates and so on. If these functions stop working, or you experience other problems, then there may be a problem with the service, and you should clear the cache on Google Play Store and Google Play Services. To do this:

• Go to Settings > Apps
• Scroll down to Google Play Store, tap it, then tap Clear cache.
• Do the same for Google Play services
• That should fix most problems you’ll experience with the Play Store

What’s new in Google Play 6.0.5

In a helpful move for both developers and users, Google has added the ability for developers to generate promo codes, allowing paid apps and games, as well as in-app content, to be made available for free.

Google also made a less substantial alteration to how reviews are judged by users. Now there is a small thumbs-up icon, just like on Facebook, that can be used to show agreement with a user review of an app. As part of this change, the spam button has been relegated to a side menu next to the thumb. It’s a subtle change that means it’s now easier to give positive feedback than negatively report reviews, which was likely abused by many.

What’s new in Google Play 6.0.00

The biggest change in Google Play v6.0 is the long-awaited visual overhaul previewed by Googler Kirill Grouchnikov almost a month ago (shown below). The redesigned Google Play Store now divides content into two categories: apps and games, and entertainment. Previously, the front page showed six tabs.

What’s new in Google Play 5.10.30

Google Play version 5.10.30 came quickly after version 5.10.29. There are only a few changes that we can see, the most notable of which the new Google Play font in the search bar, along with the ability to copy text from the Description and What’s New section.

We still haven’t seen the new front page mentioned above, but that may well be Play Store version 6.0 or a server-side change. Other changes in the code that aren’t live yet reference books being grouped into series and app size information being displayed at installation time.

What’s new in Google Play 5.9.11

The first thing you’ll notice in Google Play 5.9.11 is a new pop-up window letting you know about granular app permissions in apps compatible with Android 6.0.

The team at Android Police revealed further documentation for fingerprint support, an uninstall manager (probably tied into Marshmallow’s RAM Manager), location-based recommendations and new visuals when refunding apps.

What’s new in Google Play 5.8.11

There’s not a lot that we can see, other than transitions and animations seeming a little faster on Android 5.1 Lollipop. Even though this version of the Play Store was pulled from the Android M preview 3, it still seems to be working fine on Android 5.1. If you want to play it safe though, stick to 5.8.8 for now.

What’s new in Google Play 5.8.8

Not much other than a cool new hamburger menu animation. You’ve probably seen this elsewhere in Google apps, but when you switch from one screen to another, the three horizontal lines that take you to the navigation drawer rotate and convert into a back arrow.

What’s new in Google Play 5.7.10

Google Play Store 5.7.10 brought circular animations to TV pages and “popular opinions review blurbs”, according to the uploader’s notes on APK Mirror. Feel free to check it out and let us know what you find.

What’s new in Google Play 5.7.6

Some new changes appeared in Google Play Store version 5.7.6. The ‘What’s New’ section in app descriptions now has a slightly different look – green text on a green background.

There’s also some new animations in the kids’ Characters section. Tapping a character’s picture makes the image zoom up to the top of the screen with the relevant information displayed underneath.

What’s new in Google Play 5.6.6

A previous update to version 5.6.6 introduced some realigned buttons (right-justified) – difficult to notice if you hadn’t seen this post from Googler Kirill Grouchnikov. The last noticeable changes we saw came back in version 5.5.8, which introduced a nifty circular animation in the TV shows section (only on devices running Android 5.1 though).

Whenever you tap on a TV series, the image for that show will animate into a little circle that shoots up to the top of the screen to become the hero banner. When you back out of a show, the process is reversed. We’re assuming the animation will come to other sections of the Play Store in a future update. You can see the animation in action below.

1. Stop WhatsApp images appearing in your camera roll

If your friends send you loads of stupid pictures on WhatsApp, and you don’t want them mixed in with all your amazing photos, it is possible to keep WhatsApp images separate so they don’t appear in your camera roll.

• Download a file explorer, such as ES File Explorer
• Navigate to sdcard/WhatsApp/Media
• Enter the folder you don’t want shared (in this case, WhatsApp Images)
• Tap the plus button at the bottom of the screen
• Name the new folder .nomedia

2. Lock WhatsApp

If you’re keen to keep your WhatsApp private, you can use any number of security apps to set a passcode for the app. AppLock is a popular choice.

3. Switch your WhatsApp chat history between phones

If you haven’t received the update that allows Google Drive backups yet, and you need to move your WhatsApp history over to a new device, it’s a pretty painless procedure. All you need is a microSD card and a few minutes to spare.

• Insert the microSD card into the device that has WhatsApp on it
• In WhatsApp, go to Settings > Chats and calls > Back up chats
• Remove the SD card and place it into your other device
• Install WhatsApp on the other device
• WhatsApp should detect the backup and prompt you to restore it, which you should do

4. Get desktop notifications for WhatsApp chats

You’ll need the WhatsApp Web Chrome extension to get WhatsApp desktop notifications. Then, all you need to do is install a simple add-on called WAToolkit.

After installing it, you will see a new icon in your browser toolbar. Hover your cursor over it to see the most recently received message, or right click for more options. You’ll also notice the WAToolkit options button in your WhatsApp Web tab. The best part? WAToolkit will notify you of messages on your desktop even when Chrome itself isn’t running.

• In the WhatsApp Web browser window, go to Options > Notifications and ensure that
• Desktop Alerts is ticked
• Install the Chrome browser extension WAToolkit
• Make sure the background notifications box is ticked, like in the image below

5. Send private messages in bulk, BCC-style

Privacy on the internet is a hard thing to hold onto, but even the famously unprivate WhatsApp has a few features that let you do things on the down-low.

Want to send out a group message without everyone in the group seeing who else received that message, and then seeing every subsequent response to the message? That’s what the Broadcast feature is for, and using it is simple:

• Tap the Options icon at the top right (three dots)
• Tap New broadcast
• Enter the names of all the contacts you want to send your private message to
• Tap Create, write your message, then send it

6. Hide ‘Last seen’, profile photo and status

Getting thrown into a big group chat filled with party guests and people you don’t know can be bewildering. Suddenly, your profile picture is staring back at a chatroom full of strangers, who can also see your status and when you’re reading messages. If I wanted a whole flock of strangers ogling and judging a photo of me, I’d have gone on Tinder.

Here’s how to have better control over who sees this information on WhatsApp:

• Tap the Options icon at the top right of WhatsApp
• Go to Settings > Account > Privacy
• Go through the Last seen, Profile photo, and Status options, then set their visibility to ‘Everyone’, ‘My contacts’ or ‘Nobody’, depending on how much privacy you want

7. Mute annoying WhatsApp group chats

We’ve all been in that position where we’ve somehow been dragged into a group chat that we either didn’t really want to be in in the first place or just don’t want to receive notifications from every couple of minutes.

Rather than just leave the chat, which may offend some people, you can simply mute the chat so you stop receiving notifications from it.

• In WhatsApp, tap the Chats tab
• Tap the group you want to mute
• With the group open, tap the Options icon at the top right
• Tap Mute, then select the amount of time you want to mute the group for. You can also untick the Show notifications box so that you never hear from the group again until you decide otherwise

8. Create a homescreen shortcut for your favorite chats

Do you have certain friends with whom you have constant stream-of-consciousness conversations, where you’re non-stop WhatsApp’ing all day, every day?

If so, then you can create a shortcut icon to those conversations, which will appear on your Android homescreen. This means you can jump straight into chats with your BFFs and important groups.

• In WhatsApp, tap the Chats tab.
• Tap and hold the conversation you want to create a shortcut for.
• When the list of options appears, tap Add conversation shortcut
• A shortcut displaying your contact’s profile picture will now appear on your homescreen. Tap it to jump straight in and start chatting to them.

9. Recover deleted messages

By default, WhatsApp backs up your messages every day at 4am. This means that if you’ve deleted any messages since then, but before the next auto-backup, you can recover them. To do this:

• Uninstall WhatsApp from your device (Settings > Apps > WhatsApp > Uninstall)
  Reinstall WhatsApp.
• Type your phone number into WhatsApp, then it should notify you that it’s found a backup of your chats
• Tap Restore to get your deleted messages back

10. How to change your WhatsApp background

This simple little trick allows you to change the default wallpaper in WhatsApp. It’s purely an aesthetic feature, but it does make your conversations look a lot nicer.

• In WhatsApp, tap the options (three dots) button and tap Settings
• Tap Chats and calls
• Tap Wallpaper
• Tap WhatsApp, to download the WhatsApp wallpaper pack, or Documents, to view your own images.
• Select an image and tap Set Wallpaper
